Monologs

Stiles: You know when you're drowning, you don't actually inhale until right before you black out. It's called voluntary apnea. It's like no matter how much you're freaking out, the instinct to not let any water in is so strong that you won't open your mouth until you feel like your head's exploding. But then when you finally do let it in, that's when it stops hurting. It's not scary anymore. It's - it's actually kind of peaceful

2 paragraph

HORrOutline
Examples1: setting: dark desert with mountains
Examples2: from good, to extremely good , to understatement.

Paragraph number 1:
"Is it better to be feared or respected" Tone is used to show how you feel.
The speaker uses the same tone for the entire speach. The tone is very strong and specific. He uses his tone to make a better impression to himself. The part when he says:"That's how Dad did it.
That's how America does it. And it's worked out pretty well so far." His tone changes and goes back to normal. His tone is very effective, he always changes his tone, at the right place, at the right moment, making the speech perfect. When he said:"That's how Dad did it. That's how America does it. And it's worked out pretty well so far". His tone goes high, then even higher, then he went to understatement.

Paragraph number 2
" the crown jewel of Stark Industries' Freedom Line." This phrases does not really make sense. He puts the weapons as the best weapon of his industry. "It's the first missile system to incorporate our proprietary repulsor technology" this phrase does not make sense, he shows off his weapons by calling it "Jericho" the ancient leader of Israel. "I humbly present the crown jewel of Stark Industries' Freedom Line."

Metaphors of sound of thunder

"It closed its mouth in a death grin." Metaphors is the transference of a 'quality' from one thing to another. The sound of thunder uses metaphors brilliantly to describe the story in more detail. Time was a film run backward."  The quality of film running backwards  is being transferred to time.It closed its mouth in a death grin. The quality of the  death grin is transferred to the t-Rex . Eckels felt his eyelids blink over his stare, and the sign burned in this momentary darkness. The quality of the that is being transferred is the visual quality of the brightness of the the fire ' burning the sign in his brain' The author uses metaphors to explain things in more detail without writing to much.
